Abstract

This research aims to investigate the existing inventory management problems and develop an effective inventory management approach for small and medium-sized mobile phone spare parts retail businesses. These businesses commonly encounter issues such as excess inventory, stock shortages, and inaccurate inventory control, leading to high inventory holding costs and lost sales opportunities. To address these challenges, the study applies Inventory Management principles by employing ABC Analysis, Reorder Point (ROP), and Safety Stock techniques to establish appropriate inventory control policies. In addition, an inventory management application was developed to facilitate inventory recording, monitor stock levels, provide reorder alerts, and support purchasing decisions based on real-time inventory data.
The findings led to the development of a systematic inventory management framework capable of reducing inventory carrying costs, significantly decreasing dead stock, and improving working capital turnover. Furthermore, the proposed approach enhances inventory accuracy, minimizes stockout occurrences, and improves the efficiency of spare parts issuance and customer service operations. Consequently, the business can achieve better financial liquidity, higher operational efficiency, and stronger competitiveness in a sustainable manner.
