Analysis of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Effecting to the Real Estate Construction Engineering in ASEAN-5 Countries
Abstract
This research is qualitative and mixed method. It is intended to analyze for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) which affecting real estate construction engineering in the 5 ASEAN countries include: Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The methodology of the research was a review the researchs and related articles on ESG issues affecting construction engineering. The results of the research are summarized as follows: in other words, each country has a different context for the development and implementation of ESG dimensions. The integration of ESG in construction engineering has contributed to the determination of investment decisions. Therefore, the adoption of ESG in each country has led to activities in various areas: 1) Environment issue; an energy master plan has been prepared, new industry master plan, fiscal and financial plan, quality certification standards, environmental legal measures and construction laws 2) Social issue; aspects that the urban development plan has been implemented including the social welfare law, environmental conservation law and environmental financial plan 3) Governance issue; the sustainability report and corporate governance. Therefore, the group of 5 ASEAN countries have adopted ESG principles according to the context of each country for interrelated process to the sustainability of environmental, social, and governance.
